Scooter: The Tuxedo Boy Who Always Comes Home
Scooter: Always Comes Home
Scooter is a ~1-3 year old tuxedo male with a heart of gold and an independent streak. His story is a bit difficult to tell - it's not necessarily sad, but rather incomplete.
The Gentleman in Tuxedo
There's something about tuxedo cats - they carry themselves with a certain dignity. Scooter embodied this perfectly. He was well-mannered, affectionate, and genuinely enjoyed human company. Every interaction with him felt like he was saying thank you.
His Signature: Loves being Home 🏡
Scooter's greatest strength was his homing instinct and loyalty. He didn't need to be hidden away indoors to stay safe - he always came back. That reliability, that trust, became the cornerstone of who he was.
A Different Path
After working with Scooter since May 2025, we discovered he thrived best in a semi-outdoor environment. His need to roam, explore, and then return to his people was as natural as breathing. We made the difficult decision to place him in a shelter environment that could provide outdoor access with safe containment.
The Uncertain Ending
This is where Scooter's story becomes bittersweet. After we took him to the shelter, we lost contact with him. We don't know how he's doing, whether he's still exploring, still coming home to someone's heart.
But I have to believe that somewhere, Scooter is doing what he does best - roaming his territory, and finding his way home. Even if that home isn't one we can see.
We hope you're doing well wherever you are Scooter!
